Oman- Startup Grind hosts Adrienne Yandell of ReBootKamp

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Startup Oman (www.startupoman.om), the sultanate's only online platform created by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs and the designated chapter of Startup Grind in Oman, recently hosted Startup Grind.

Startup Grind was hosted by Innovation Factory as the event partner and Wadi Accelerator as the exclusive local sponsor. Featured on Startup Grind's stage was Adrienne Yandell, founder of Work4Good and the director at ReBootKamp (RBK). RBK is a non-profit social enterprise and the first fully immersive code bootcamp in the Arab world. Driven by market demand and with 100 per cent employment upon graduation, the programme is offered to both refugees and Jordanian nationals with 50 per cent of the seats reserved for women.

Prior to her work with Work4Good and RBK, Adrienne worked in several US embassies around the world as a programme manager. She holds a BS in Ocean Engineering from MIT and an MBA from the University of Oxford.

Her current work and research aims to identify and understand the root causes of youth unemployment in the MENA region while identifying and supporting the best solutions in the education ecosystem that are emerging to solve these problems while directing the admission and outcomes at ReBootKamp.

Over 50 entrepreneurs, students and young professionals joined the event at Innovation Factory space in Knowledge Oasis to hear Adrienne's story to entrepreneurship. One of the things she shared is what entrepreneurs need when they start a business and said, 'Successful entrepreneurs need resourcefulness, not resources. They need to be able to bring on board the right team, find the right partners and find more efficient ways of delivery. They also need to be humble enough to work with other people and realise that they're all working towards the same objective.'

Startup Oman co-founder Ali Daud said, 'We are thrilled to feature an experienced tech entrepreneur such as Adrienne on the Startup Grind stage. Adrienne's experience showcases how to succeed in developing solutions for societal issues such as unemployment.'
