Turkish Airlines hosts tourism meet


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Turkish Airlines organised the first Black Sea Tourism and Investment Summit - Middle East & North Africa (Mena) region in Rize, Turkey earlier this month.
Agencies from 14 countries and the region gathered for a workshop that was attended by more than 700 people. The workshop also saw over 2,000 meetings between agencies, which allowed for the introduction of Trabzon, Artvin, Rize, Ordu, Giresun and Samsun cities.
A gala dinner featuring ministers was also held to reflect the importance of the event and express their support to empower tourism in Turkey's Black Sea region, attracting tourists from the Mena region, according to a press statement from the airline. Delegates not only enjoyed Turkish hospitality but also visited the Black Sea's busiest ports and its 'must-see attractions by attending a familiarisation trip between May 12 and 14.
During the trip, participants had a chance to tour Rize, a picturesque tea-growing area offering scenic natural views, historical artefacts and touristic attraction such as rafting and zip lining, among others, in the Firtina valley.
Additionally, the participating guests enjoyed the attractions of Trabzon, such as Uzungol Lake, Boztepe Hills and others, showcasing why Trabzon is considered among the most attractive global tourist destinations and how it is able to attract thousands of visitors from around the world.
Turkish Airlines operates regular flights to Trabzon, which thousands of tourists visit to spend a week of relaxation, enjoy local delicacies and see the city's several monasteries, among
other activities.
Turkish Airlines also flies directly to Trabzon from the GCC region, including Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam and Kuwait.
The airline has said it is planning to operate chartered flights from several destinations from the Middle East to the Black Sea region, including Doha, Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina, Al Qassim, Taif and Beirut to Trabzon, and from Al Qassim and Riyadh to Ordu.
