Kuwait- WEF calls for creating economic model for entreprenuers, startups

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DEAD SEA, Jordan, May 21 (KUNA) -- World Economic Forum created a new economic model whose backbone is entrepreneurship and startups, president of WEF's Regional Strategies for Middle East and North Africa, Miroslav Dusk, said Sunday.

At the conclusion of WEF on the Middle East and North Africa at the Dead Sea, held under the theme "Empowering Generations into the Future," Dusk said such model underscores the need to empower entrepreneurs and provide them with the right environment to help them grow and sustain.

Dusk said the forum saw the launch of many initiatives, the most important of which is the Internet for All in Jordan to include Syrian refugees and the Sustainable Investment Partnership to address the financial challenges facing enterprises in the region.

Dusk stressed that the outcome of the gathering will positively reflect on Jordan and the countries of the region, noting that the forum has worked for many years to facilitate dialogue on the challenges facing the region and find political solutions to them.

Overall, one of the main issues tackled in the forum were to encourage creative business leaders and technology gurus to build economies that ensures participation from all, including for aid and diplomatic efforts to meet the challenges facing the region.

More than 1,100 public figures participated in the three-day forum, representing more than 50 countries from around the world.

Kuwait's Minister of Commerce and Industry and Khaled Al-Roudhan and Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh represented Kuwait in the forum. (end) mjb.mb
