ITA celebrates graduation of 47 Omanis in mobile applications development


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Information Technology Authority (ITA) celebrated the graduation of the fourth batch of Sas Centre for Mobile Apps Development last week. The batch consisted of 47 Omanis. The students underwent a three-month training programme on three operating systems: iOS, Android and Hybrid, resulting in the production of 23 mobile applications, stated a press release.

The centre was launched in June 2016 to provide a quality platform and industry cluster to build and enhance national development skills, talents and capacity required to develop ideas into commercially sustainable mobile applications and businesses. Till date, four batches consisting of 190 trainees, have graduated from the centre.

The three-month comprehensive training covers three operating systems: Android, iOS and Hybrid. Ten graduates from each batch are selected to enrol on the job attachment programme in the centre in which they are given projects to work on and advanced training, added the release. The centre also provides fast track intensive training programmes for five days.

Through these courses, the centre has trained around 173 trainees in three courses until now. A number of entities have enrolled their employees in the centre's training programmes in order to improve their electronic services.

The centre also conducts these short courses in cooperation with institutions that requests training. Sas Centre for Mobile Apps Development also conducts training programmes for labs and facilities of organisations or SMEs. It also provides free consultancy services for university and college students for their graduation projects in mobile apps development, as well as for SMEs.
