Saudi Government Sanctions a Hezbollah Leader Involved with Terrorist Activities and Providing Advice to Commit Terrorist Operations

Riyadh, Sha'ban 23, 1438, May 19, 2017, SPA -- The Saudi government today designated a Leader of Hezbollah, whose name is Hashem Safieddine - born in 1964 in Tyre area off southern Lebanon - since he is responsible for committing operations in the interest of Hezbollah in the Middle East, providing advice to launch terrorist operations, and support Alasd regime.
The Saudi government will continue to combat Hezbollah's terrorist activities with all available legal tools and will continue to work with partners around the world to make it clear that Hezbollah's militant and extremist activities should not be tolerated by any nation.
As long as Hizballah spreads instability, conducts terrorist attacks and engages in criminal and illicit activities around the world, we will continue to designate Hezbollah's operatives, leaders and businesses, impose sanctions as a result of designation, and disrupt its radical activities.
The name sanctioned today was designated under the Saudi Law of Terrorism Crimes and Financing and the Royal Decree A/44, which targets terrorists and their supporters for acting for or on behalf.
Any assets of that NAME under Saudi jurisdiction are frozen, and Saudi citizens and residents in the Kingdom are generally prohibited from engaging in any transactions with that NAME designated today.
