Iran to ink deal to buy 6.000 freight wagons


(MENAFN) Iran will ink a deal in order to buy and build 6.000 freight wagons amid the coming Iran Rail Expo in Tehran, as proclaimed the deputy head of Iran Railways Co.

Accordingly, almost 4.900 freight wagons will be constructed by three regional firms with a 100 percent global fund plus 250mn euros.

Additionally, 1.100 wagons will also be imported to the country, emphasizing that no import would be allowed in until the launch of producing line of the three Iranian firms for semi-wagons.

The country needs 8.000 freight wagons plus 4.000 passenger wagons in 2023 Iran Vision Plan and it also had to buy 1.000 locomotives by the year.
