NASA seeks help to fasten Fortran code


(MENAFN) The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is need for coders to rush the FUN3D software that it uses to create experimental aircraft.

NASA will start a contest that will share USD55.000 between the top 2 people who can cause its software to work 10.000 times faster.

The FUN3D code is used to shape air flows around manufactured aircraft in a supercomputer.

It was developed in the 80s and is written in Fortran, a very old computer programming language.
