Corbyn vows to hang airstrikes on Syria

(MENAFN) Following the general election on 8 June, leader of Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, said he could hang British participation in airstrikes against Syria if he get elected as prime minister.

Corbyn set out his position on a variety of security and foreign policies, saying he would look again at Britain's nuclear deterrent and was against using nuclear weapons.

However, Labour Party is almost 20 points behind the ruling Conservatives in opinion polls.

On the other hand, the Conservatives pounced his comments, saying it posed a threat to British security and was a reason "for sticking with the strong leadership of [Prime Minister] Theresa May".
