(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka : US-Bangla Airlines, the country's leading premium airline, started flights to its fifth international destination Singapore on March 9.
The flights leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11.00 pm (local time) and reach Changi International Airport at 5.15 am (local time). From Singapore, the flights leave at 6.15 am (local time) and lands in at 8.30 am (local time).
The flights for Singapore are being operated with 164-seat Boeing B737-800 aircraft on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. There are eight Business Class and 156 Economy Class seats in the Boeing B737-800 aircraft.
The airline is offering promotional fares for the Singapore flights. One-way fare has been fixed for Tk 19,999 and Tk 24,499 return inclusive of all taxes and surcharges.
Muhammed Abdullah Al Mamun, Managing Director, US-Bangla Airlines Limited said, "Within two and half years of its operation, US-Bangla Airlines stands as the top private airline of the country. Currently, in the domestic sector, US-Bangla Airlines carries over 50 per cent of the total passengers. In recognition of this, US-Bangla Airlines achieved the title of Best Domestic Airlines 2015 and 2016 among all other air carriers in Bangladesh."

In the International arena, flights are being operated to Muscat from and Chittagong and to Kolkata from daily and weekly five flights to Kuala Lumpur with Boeing B737-800 aircraft. And three days a week, flights in Dhaka-Kathmandu route are being operated.
Inside the country, it is operating six flights in Dhaka-Chittagong, three flights in Dhaka-Cox's Bazar, three flights in Dhaka-Jessore, two flights in Dhaka-Saidpur and one flight in Dhaka-Sylhet routes daily. And three flights in Dhaka-Barisal and Dhaka-Rajshahi routes are being operated weekly.
Within a very short time US-Bangla Airlines will be operating in Bangkok, Guangzhou, Doha and Paro.
Currently US-Bangla Airlines owns six aircraft in its fleet out of which three are Boeing B737-800s and three are Dash8-Q400s. Within August 2017, the fourth Boeing B737-800 and fourth DASH8-Q400 aircraft are expected to join its fleet.
The airline has started separate Help Desk for the wage earners where dedicated service is being provided including filling up forms and all other support they require.
US-Bangla Airlines possesses sophisticated equipments for ground handling and holds a record in delivering the luggage within 10 minutes after landing which is a milestone in the Bangladesh's aviation history.
For the Business Class passengers, US-Bangla is providing pick and drops from home to airport and airport to home.
Another report adds: Earlier on March 1, US-Bangla Airlinres started flights to Kuala Lumpur. Flights for Kuala Lumpur leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8.00 pm (local time) with Boeing B737-800 aircraft and reach Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 2.00 am (local time). From Kuala Lumpur, the flights leave at 3.00 am (local time) and land in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5.00 am (local time). Kuala Lumpur flights are being operated daily except for Friday and Saturday.
The promotional fare for Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur flight has been fixed for Tk 20,499 one way and Tk 27,999 return inclusive of all taxes and surcharges.
Computerised Departure Card
US-Bangla Airlines, to enhance services further, has introduced Computerised Departure Card for the first time in the aviation history of the country.
For the convenience of the passengers, the cards are being issued from the check-in counter after the issuance of Boarding Pass. The cards contain the name of the passenger, flight number, his/her date of birth, passport number, date of issue and expiry of the passport and other important data.
The passengers will not now have to write the information by hand.
Airline sources said, "Many of those who go abroad for work come from remote areas of the country and are not that educated. They consider filling up the cards before their departure a burden. If the cards are not properly filled up, they may face hassles at Immigration."
"So the airline has started issuing the cards, besides setting up a Wage Earners Desk," the sources added.
