Ramon Jipijapa, Ecuador / Construction Supplies A loan of $1,100 helps to buy wood, bamboo cane, and fertilizer for his crops. Ramon's story

Don Ramón is 68 years old, married, and from this relationship has seven children who are all older. One of these still live in his house. His wife is a housewife. They live in Jipijapa, a place that also suffered a fair amount of damage in the earthquake last April.

He makes a living in trade; two or three times a week he goes out to the country in a truck that he rents in order to buy wood and bamboo cane, then takes it to deliver to warehouses and constructions in the city that always buy his products. He also, for the rest of the week, dedicates himself to agriculture. He has a farm on which he grows coffee, cocoa, and corn; products that he cultivates in every season of the year and which upon selling leave him very good income that allows him to get his family ahead in life.

He will use this loan to buy wood, bamboo cane, and fertilizer for his crops. His dream is to have his own truck in order to save on charters.
