(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- A Spanish family is travelling through Oman in a camper van as part of their world tour. Lolo and Paloma Fernandez are accompanied by their daughters Clara, 5 and Emma, 3 and their dog Dharma.
Paloma said, 'We started the trip on July 11, 2016 from Ceuta in Spain. The idea was to travel for two years but we think that we will be on the road longer. We are traveling in 'slow mode'. When we enjoy a country, we extend our stay. One purpose of our journey is to assist individuals, associations, NGOs or foundations working with children and women. We want to give our time and knowledge, learn what does not come in books, and above all, be able to tell our daughters that another world is possible and above all, necessary.'
The family calls their trip the Go Travel project and find causes through social media to contribute along the way. Some of the projects they are working on include providing school supplies for poor children, providing clothing and footwear for Syrian refugees in Greece and Turkey, and voluntary work in India.
The family arrived in Oman onFebruary 17and were so enamoured that they extended their stay. She said, 'We love this country. Of all the countries we have visited, Oman is one of our favourites.'
Before arriving in Oman, the family had driven their camper van through Spain, France, England, Scotland, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Romania, Greece, Turkey, Iran and the UAE.
Paloma said that the family fell in love with Oman's natural beauty. 'We appreciate the country's nature and authenticity. Oman has managed to maintain its essence. The weather in March is perfect and the people are amazing. We have especially enjoyed the beautiful secluded beaches where we can be away from crowds and enjoy nature up-close.'
After Oman, the family intends to return to Iran and continue their trip starting with Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Mongolia and Japan. Subsequent legs of their trip will take them to North America, South America and Australia.
