DGDP reveals details of programmes and initiatives of Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition

DUBAI, 26th March, 2017 (WAM) The Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGDP) of the Dubai Executive Council (DEC), hosted a press conference on Sunday to unveil the details of the programmes and initiatives of the Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition (DIGAE), which will be held under the patronage of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, from April 2 to 4.

Abdulla Al Shaibani, General Secretary of the DEC, Ahmed Mahbub Musabbeh Director of Dubai Customs, Abdullah Al Moeini, Director of Emirates Standardisation and Metrology Authority (ESMA), Ali Obaid Al Hamli Director of News Centre at Dubai Media Incorporated, Rashid Al Nuaimi of the National Media Council and Dr. Ahmed Nusseirat, General Coordinator of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme, addressed the audience, along with participation of a representative for SNCF Gares and Connexions, the French partner.

The Secretary General of DEC, Abdullah Al Shaibani, delivered a speech in which he noted that the organisation of the Dubai International Government Achievement Exhibition will be held under the title, "National Governments.. Global Achievements" which stems from the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and in response to his vision of strengthening Dubai's status as a city of excellence and a global attraction for major international events.

"The Dubai Government Excellence Programme has been organising the DIGAE for the last four years, and we are proud that this exhibition has achieved unprecedented success, especially as it has become a global brand in its previous version, which is dedicated to promoting a culture of government excellence, not only at the local level, but also at the regional and international levels", Al Shaibani said.

He added, "The DIGAE is a global platform for the convergence of creative ideas and the exchange of experiences of excellence in various fields of government work, which is of interest to leading government agencies from many countries in the developed world, such as the United States, Canada, European countries and Asian states that demonstrated unprecedented success in the areas of government work."

Dr. Ahmed Al Nuseirat, General Coordinator of Dubai Government Excellence Programe noted, "DIGAE is a leading platform in which government agencies from participating countries gather to present their most important achievements, services and future plans in their respective fields".

He added, "We expect the exhibition, in its fifth edition, to be more successful and more unique. It is expected to receive about 17,000 visitors to see the achievements of exhibitors from all over the world. The exhibition offers participants many benefits, including learning from best practices, as well as partnerships with the participating parties, the introduction of innovative government services, and an opportunity to meet the leaders of the participating parties".

Dr. Al Nusairat noted that the total number of participants in the exhibition this year is 80 exhibitors from some 20 countries, an increase of 20 percent, compared to the previous year's exhibition.

"The number of participating government bodies from the Emirate of Dubai reached 30, Ras Al Khaimah five and from the federal authorities seven entities," he added.

The News Centre Director at Dubai Media Incorporated, Ali Obaid Al Hamli, noted in his speech the importance of the Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition in enhancing relations, cooperation and continuous communication between various government departments, as well as its role in exchanging experiences and reviewing the achievements of the Government of Dubai in various sectors, including the economy and development, security, innovation, intelligent transformation, and sustainability.

Al Hamli added, "The themes and ideas to be presented at the exhibition are characterised by partnerships among various departments in providing creative services to residents and visitors to the Emirate, contributing to highlighting the integration within government departments to provide quality services to the public.

The Executive Director of Support Services at the National Media Council, Dr. Rashid Khalfan Al Nuaimi, said that the exhibition is a reflection of the steps taken by the UAE in the process of development and prosperity, and the achievements of its government have made it a role model for government work.
