Get Ready Dubai, Zac Efron is in town!

In case you haven't heard, the news that's making every teenage girl squeal (who are we kidding this doesn't only apply to squealing teenagers) is that Zack Efron is going to be in Dubai. Yup, you read that right. Yesterday Paris Gallery announced on their Instagram page that Zac will be appearing at their Dubai Mall store on March 31 to launch the HUGO ICED fragrance. Not only will you have a chance to gawk at the actor there might even be a chance to meet him.It would be easy to box Zac Efron as just another product of that weird Disney/Hollywood machine which so flawlessly creates these young talented actors and singers that capture the hearts of the world in an extreme frenzy. They seem to never get old but when they do, it's usually game over. And most of us (the really evil portion of us) seem to enjoy their fall from grace whether through that awkward transition from child actor to serious adult actor or when the same Hollywood machine turns on them and we are bombarded with images of over partied actors going off the rails smeared all over our newsfeeds.

Zac Efron though is the rare case of child actor who hasn't and (we hope) will unlikely be going through that. Why? Well, we have a feeling it's a lot to do with Zac's extra circular activities (he's really into sports and outdoor stuff), his family (he's really close with his brother), his passion for acting (Zac's turned down some pretty impressive offers to concentrate on his craft) and the fact that he's a pretty down to earth guy (check out his Instagram there's nothing glamorous there).

We first met the multi-talented actor in the super popular film High School Musical in 2006. Yeah he's good looking and that's probably why girls the world over were glued to their television sets watching him sing and dance through high school hallways with Vanessa Hudgens - but trust us he's more than that. Zac has proven his acting chops since High School Musical propelled him to fame through a number of movies such as Me and Orson Welles and The Paperboy and has even proved that he can genuinely make us laugh in That Awkward Moment opposite Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan and in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates alongside his friend Adam Devine and the super talented Anna Kendrick (we have a huge crush on her by the way). Other filme we love Zac in include his musical film Hairspray and the comedy film 17 Again starring Mathew Perry as well (So good!).

And Zac hasn't stopped. His upcoming flick is the hugely anticipated reboot Baywatch film starring The Rock and Priyanka Chopra (if you haven't seen the new trailer please do, it looks like it's going to be a good one) and another interesting film titled The Greatest Showman starring along side Hugh Jackman.

So to prepare you and ourselves for Zac making an appearance here in Dubai we've complied a while bunch of interesting facts about the man himself.

Young Talent
Zac's parents started taking him to singing lessons at the age of 11 and given that he had a natural talent for performing he landed a role in the production of Gypsy which ran for 90 performances. He also got roles on the stage in Peter Pan, Mame, Little Shop of Horrors and The Music Man. Despite this Zac has often said that he and his brother Dylan had a "normal childhood" in a middle-class family.

High School Fame
Everything changed in 2005 when Zac got the lead role in a Disney Channel film called High School Musical. The movie was supposed to be a one off but it became so popular that Disney turned it into a movie franchise, which of course propelled Zac to international fame.

Breaking Free
As many of you know, Zac dated his co-star from the High School Musical franchise Vanessa Hudgens for almost five years. Their duet from the film Breaking Free jumped from No. 86 to No. 4 on the Billboard chart in just one week, making it the fastest climb in the history of the Billboard Hot 100. A lot of people assumed that Zac would then get into making music after the movie franchise ended but Zac had other plans.

The Right Focus
Since Zac is a good singer, he was actually offered a record deal by the one and only Simon Cowell (we aren't sure if that's a good or bad thing to be honest LOL), but Zac declined stating that, "Acting is my main priority." He was also accepted into the University of Southern California, but deferred his enrollment to focus on acting. And aren't we all glad? However he has expressed that his ideal job would be trying out video games or playing professional poker. Random...LOL.

Star Struck
Zac has confessed to being star struck by the one and only Angelina Jolie and his first celebrity crush as a teen was Tyra Banks. He even had her poster from her Victoria Secret days posted up on his ceiling. Also, if Zac could swap lives with anyone, he says he would like to be the Queen of England. If you think that's random then did you know that Zac reportedly learned to ride a motorcycle from Tom Cruise after the two bumped into each other at a party?

Too Much Too Soon
The pressures of fame from such a young age must have had an effect on the star at some point because in 2013, Zac received treatment for issues with drugs and alcohol. As far as we know, Zac has never been in the papers for the wrong reasons and has his issues with drugs and alcohol under control. We hope it stays that way!

Random Hobbie
As a hobby when he has the time between movies, Zac enjoys fixing up cars. He's repaired two to date, a Delorean and a '65 Mustang convertible which both were hand-me-downs from his grandfather.
