Small plane nearly crashes as it flies below Emirates A380


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Emirates Airlines is investigating an incident which occurred on January 7 when a German aircraft nearly crashed on its way to Abu Dhabi. The small German aircraftwas flying over Arabian Sea when it came too close for comfort to an Emirates superjumbo passenger jet.

The nine people on board the smaller aircraft were injured during the incident.

According to reports, the small aircraft was flying in the opposite direction of an Emirates A380 and passed about 1,000 feet under the superjumbo before it nearly plunged. Luckily, the pilot managed to regain control of the aircraft and the German airplane landed safely in Muscat, Oman.

The engines of the German aircraft were shut, making itfall freely.

While speaking to about the incident, an Emirates spokesperson told Khaleej Times,"Safety is our number one priority and all of Emirates' flight operations are carefully managed within all applicable regulations and protocols. The incident mentioned is under investigation by the relevant authorities."
