Miss Malarkey's Lost Her Man

A campaign raising money for the production of a 10-minute short film shot locally in Cornwall and created by Falmouth University students.

Miss Malarkey's Lost Her Man is the story of an unglamorous apocalypse. Miss Malarkey obliviously lives out her mundane life in her caravan listening to a self-help tape while searching the surrounding fields for ‘her man'. On one of these searches she comes across a corpse. In an act of morbid desperation, she drags the body into her caravan and precedes to live with it as though this it is in fact the man she has been looking for.

The film focuses on this hopeless relationship, slowly building to the reveal: that this small story is only a snippet of a much more pressing reality.

A film about mortality, isolation and relationships including caravans, corpses and the last survivor on Earth.

Director-Mattias Tamar Gill

Hi, I'm Mattias the director of the film ‘Miss Malarkey's Lost Her Man'. This project is close to my heart and has been evolving in my mind for a long time now. My aim is to create a world that feels parallel to our own by combining both stylized visuals and experimental sound. Each member of my talented crew has unique skills and ideas to help create the world Miss Malarkey wonders. With your help this film can turn from an idea into a reality, creating a new piece of cinema for all to enjoy.

Cinematographer- Alex Atinkson

My role is to bring Matti's directorial vision to the screen - over the next few months we'll be working closely together to develop a level of communication to better our chances of capturing each scene how we both envisioned. I've worked on many films independently, largely experimental or street/documentary work, yet I'm eager and excited to work with the boys on this narrative short. I hope I can bring any skills I've picked up to the table, should be a lot of fun!

Sound Design- Jude Lilley

My names Jude and I'm the sound designer for this wonderful project. My job involves designing the soundscape, sorting the dialogue and making the sweet beats allowing you (the audience) to be immersed in in a coercion of vision, sound and cum thus creating the ultimate experience when watching this film - It's not all about the cinematography you naive cinephiles. If you have the wallet to donate, then I am confident that we won't let you down as this film is anything but smart, funny, unique or original.

Producer- Meg Thompson

My name is Meg and I am the Producer of ‘Miss Malarkey's Lost Her Man'. This will be my first producing role, having studied Creative Events Management but I believe this is an exciting opportunity for me to demonstrate my capabilities in this field. I actually enjoy doing paperwork and think that with my background in events, I can help with locations, risk assessments and contracts (and anything else the crew and director need!).

Editor- Jordan Lewis

Im Jordan, Im the editor for this project. Im a third year Film student at Falmouth University, and editing truly is my passion. I have worked on both documentary and narrative film, and am very much looking forward to working on this film.

VFX- Flo Green

I am creating environments and visual effects to enhance the narrative, that otherwise would be impossible to film.

This is where you come in. To create Miss Malarkey and her world, money is needed to fund the project and various aspects that are key for the film to succeed.

By doing a launch night in Falmouth at Woodlane Social Club with live music and plenty of drinks we have been able to kickstart this Crowdfunder with a total of £470.90 .

Having created a budget, you can see below where your money will go and remember to check out the glorious rewards you can pick up depending on the amount you donate!

Thanks for your donations and we hope you enjoy the final film!
