Corruption in Pakistan cricket

Pakistan Cricket Board has charge-sheeted Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif under its anti-corruption code for alleged involvement in spot-fixing.

They have been given 14-days to respond after both of them pleaded not-guilty of the charges.

Earlier, Khan and Latif were suspended from all forms of cricket and were sent back to Pakistan from the on-going Pakistan Super League.

Pakistan Super League is a professional T20 cricket league of Pakistan.

The inaugural edition was played in 2016 in United Arab Emirates, with five franchises participating in the tournament.

Islamabad United were crowned the champions in the first edition after they defeated Quetta Gladiators in the finals.

The second edition would be played from 9 February - 5 March 2017.

Pakistan Super League comes under scanner for corruption 12 Feb 2017

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) began investigation into an international syndicate which is believed to be attempting to corrupt the Pakistan Super League which kicked off in Dubai on 9 February.

The investigation started after two players Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif of Islamabad United accepted of meeting a bookie in a hotel lobby.

However, they have denied any corruption charges.
