Australian unemployment rate grows by 5.8pct


(MENAFN) The Australian unemployment rate has jumped to 5.8 percent in Dec, according to figures showed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Furthermore, almost 13.500 new jobs were made amid the period, surpassing the predicted mark of 12.000 held by market analysts.

In addition, the amount of people in full time work increased with 9.500 new positions filled and the part time workforce with 4.500 jobs created.

Meanwhile, participation rates were up, with 64.7 percent of people either employed or recently seeking work.
