Kuwait- Defense Min. receives naval hardware from UAE firm


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ABU DHABI, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Defense received on Wednesday a naval ship from UAE company "Abu Dhabi Ship Building" (ADSB), part of a purchase of military equipment that aims to bolster Kuwait's defense capabilities.

The ministry took possession of the equipment in a ceremony attended by Kuwait's Ambassador to Abu Dhabi Salah Al-Baijan, along with Kuwaiti military officials.

In a statement to KUNA, the Ministry of Defense's delegation noted that the purchase of the naval ship comprises an agreement with ADSB to construct an assortment of eight naval equipment.

On the top-notch equipment, the delegation pointed out that ADSB has hitherto delivered five naval ships, with three more to come in the last quarter of the year.

Meanwhile, the delegation added that the Ministry of Defense is eager to keep abreast of the latest defense strategies and methods, which in turn, would create a more adept Kuwaiti military. (end) smr.nam
