Qatar's candidate for Unesco meets PM of Saint Kitts and Nevis


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis Timothy Harris met HE Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari, adviser at the Emiri Diwan and Qatar's candidate for the director general post at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco).
The prime minister expressed his admiration for Qatar and his eagerness to develop the bilateral relations between both nations in all fields, confirming the support of the Caribbean countries to the Qatari candidate after reviewing the visions of all candidates and concluding that al-Kuwari is the most eligible candidate for the position due to his scientific and practical expertise and his vision to consider small nations.
The prime minister appreciated al-Kuwari's visit to the Caribbean countries. He also appreciated attention given by Qatar to education around the world.
Al-Kuwari thanked the prime minister for his support confirming that he will consider all the needs of these countries once appointed as director general for the Unesco.
Al-Kuwari also met the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis Shawn Richards and discussed the candidate vision in the fields of education and culture.
Richards praised Qatar's attention to global education, hoping to co-operate with the State in the field, affirming his support to the Qatari candidate.
Al-Kuwari visited historical and cultural sites that are listed as part of the world heritage list on the island.
