Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Greek PM explore joint cooperation in safeguarding human heritage

ABU DHABI, 3rd December, 2016 (WAM) -- His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Saturday received Alexis Tsipras, Prime Minister of Greece, and discussed international efforts to preserve and protect cultural property.

The Greek Prime Minister was in Abu Dhabi to attend the Conference on Safeguarding Endangered Cultural Heritage, which was jointly organised by the UAE and France under the patronage of UNESCO from the 2nd to 3rd December, 2016, in Abu Dhabi.

They highlighted the need to spotlight the issue of safeguarding cultural heritage and enhancing co-operation between states and the United Nations organisations for finding adequate solutions and mechanisms to safeguard human heritage and pass it to generations.

During the meeting, which was attended by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Mohamed and Prime Minister Tsipras exchanged views on a variety of the latest regional and international developments of mutual concern.
