5.3 degrees earthquake hits Costa Rica

San Jose, 02 Rabi'I, 1438,December 01, 2016, SPA -- An earthquake measuring 5.3 degrees on the Richter scale hit the most densely populated areas in Costa Rica today, causing interruptions in water and electricity.
The National Institute of Seismic Survey at the University of Costa Rica reported that the quake's epicenter is in the city of Kabalahdes, 30 km east of the capital San Jose.
The Institute also recorded numerous aftershocks. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage from the quake.
