Qatar Airways Reinforces Partnership with Royal Air Maroc

(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat – Qatar Airways (QA) has reportedly delivered a part its equity stakes to Royal Air Maroc (RAM) as part of a joint business agreement between the two companies to launch a direct flight between the Hamad International Airport in Doha and the Marrakech Menara Airport in the near future.

This bilateral partnership follows a strategic plan on the part of QA to reinforce its presence in the world by launching eight more destinations for 2017-18 and expanding its number of destinations, which currently spans a total of 150 international destinations.

During a press conference held on Monday in Casablanca, Chief Executive Officer of QA, Akbar Al Baker, said; 'We want to serve Africa with world class services and competitive prices. In this sense, we would like to work [jointly] with RAM to develop it – so, that it will become more imposing in the African continent.'

'The aim of QA is only a capital take. However, above all [we aim] to raise the standard of RAM,' He added.

'We not only seek to develop the capital of RAM, [but] we also seek to create a large fleet and improve [the quality of] products. We also want to assist RAM to consolidate its leadership in Africa.' Baker, 'Our participation in the capital of RAM will depend on Morocco's government,,' he added.

Morocco World News reported last July that the new line offers travelers connecting flights from Doha. The airline line currently has nonstop flights from 145 cities.

In 2015 the two companies signed a commercial partnership agreement in Dubai to launch a regular route connecting Casablanca to Doha three times per week.
