US home prices grow 5.3% in August


(MENAFN) US home prices rose slightly from the previous month in August, due to positive economic growth, rising prices and wider home affordability.

The US National Home Price Index was up 5.3% on annual basis in August from 5.0% in July.

However, Managing Director and Chairman of the Index Committee at S&P Dow Jones Indices said: "All 20 cities saw prices higher than a year earlier with 10 enjoying larger annual gains than last month."
