(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Morocco is participating in the 36th Santiago International Book Fair (FILSA), which has become over the years a must-attend event in Chile to highlight the Moroccan civilization in Latin America.
For the seventh year, Morocco is the only Arab, Muslim and African country to take part in this important cultural mess, through the presentation of a varied program of cultural and artistic events and activities initiated by the Mohammed VI Centre for Dialogue of civilizations of Coquimbo (north), and the Embassy of the Kingdom in Chile.

The Santiago Book Fair was created in 1981 as a national event, an initiative of then mayor of Santiago, Carlos Bombal. It was originally held in Parque Forestal, behind the National Museum of Fine Arts; from 1989 it has been held in the Estación Mapocho Cultural Center.
