Unprovoked Indian firing kill two, wounds seven Pakistani civilians

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- At least two Pakistani civilians, including a minor girl, were killed and seven others injured as Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the working boundary, said military on Monday.

According to Pakistan militaryآ's Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), "Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling which was befittingly responded to by Pakistan Rangers Punjab in Harpal, Pukhlian and Charwah sectors on working boundary." Intermittent exchange of firing continued throughout night, it added. The injured were shifted to the nearest military hospitals.

Earlier last week, Pakistan Foreign Office condemned the unprovoked Indian firing along the Line of Control that killed a Pakistani man and injured five others including three women. According to Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakria, India has committed more than 90 ceasefire violations in 2016.

The recent tension between the neighboring nuclear armed countries grows up following a crackdown by Indian forces against the protestors in the disputed Indian Occupied Kashmir that killed over 100 civilians; an action being strongly condemned by Pakistan. (end) sbk.tg
