Jordan, US sign USD787mn grant deals


(MENAFN) Jordan and the U.S signed four agreements worth USD787mn, as part of the US 2016 economic aid program to the kingdom.

Accordingly, a further USD25mn will be offered under a concessional financing mechanism launched last year by the UN, World Bank and the Islamic Dev. Bank.

Additionally, the mechanism came due to request the kingdom made to the president of the World Bank and donor nations in 2015.

The aid will be divided as: a total of USD470mn will be allocated to the General Budget, USD100mn to the Dead Sea project, while the rest USD217m to support developmental projects in the sectors.
