Typhoon Haima kills 12 people, destroys vast tracts of corps


(MENAFN) The strongest storm to hit the Philippines in three years, Typhoon Haima, killed at least 12 people and destroyed vast tracts of rice and corn fields.

Officials in Manila confirmed that Philippine authorities were assessing the extent of damage to infrastructure and corps.

However, Chief of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said that eight of the victims were from the Cordillera region, citing reports the agency received from provincial officials.
