UAE- Abdullah bin Zayed host reception in New York

NEW YORK, 25th September 2016 (WAM) - H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, hosted a reception on Sunday on the sidelines of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The reception was attended by heads of state and foreign ministers of brotherly and friendly nations, in addition to senior international officials and members of the UAE delegation attending the UN General Assembly session.

The delegation accompanying Sheikh Abdullah includes Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance; Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State; Faris Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Security and Military Affairs; Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarmen, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs; Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development Affairs; Ambassador Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, UAE's Permanent Representative to the United Nation in New York; and members of the UAE mission to the UN.

In a welcoming speech, Reem Al Hashemi thanked the guests and wished them success at the 71st UN General Assembly session.

She added that the session represents an opportunity for various nations to renew commitments to address global challenges.

She also referred to EXPO 2020 as a platform for the UAE to work to assure that joint global actions are met in reaching sustainable development goals.
