UAE- Mohammed bin Rashid orders release of 488 prisoners

DUBAI, 8th September, 2016 (WAM) -- In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has ordered the release of 488 prisoners serving terms at various reformative and punitive institutions in the Emirate of Dubai, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

Essam Eisa Al Humaidan, Dubai's Attorney-General, said that the Public Prosecution has immediately started the legal procedures to implement Sheikh Mohammed's order, in collaboration with Dubai Police.

Al Humaidan indicated that the kind gesture of Sheikh Mohammed aims to bring happiness to prisoners' families, reunite the released prisoners with their families, and give them new opportunities to start a new life as good members of society.

The Attorney General thanked Sheikh Mohammed for his noble initiative and urged the released prisoners to lead their lives adhering to religious and moral values.
