Qatar Charity aid to benefit 27 countries

The ‘Your Sacrifice, Their Eid"; project covers 37 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe.
Doha: Under the title ‘Your Sacrifice, Their Eid";, Qatar Charity (QC) has begun its campaign to distribute the sacrificial meat of 26,040 cows and goats in 37 countries spread across Asia, Africa and Europe.
This year";s campaign also includes, in addition to distribution of sacrificial meat inside and outside Qatar, providing for performing ‘substitute Hajj";, feeding the pilgrims, paying atonements and vows, the waqf, the charity of the ten of Dhul Hijja, and distribution of pilgrims"; presents and Eid clothes inside and outside Qatar.
Thousands of people will benefit from these projects whose estimated cost is QR23.28m.
The project to distribute sacrificial meat in 37 countries will cost more than QR11m.
The campaign involves distribution of sacrificial meat of 3,000 cows and sheep in Qatar at a cost of QR1,400,000, which will benefit 14,400 people.
The meat will be distributed on the third and fourth days of Eid Al- Adha to the families of orphans, the indebted and widows.
Eid clothes will also be distributed to orphans and the needy children and the cost of this project is more than QR500,000, Yousef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Qatar Charity";s CEO said.
Al Kuwari added: 'During this time of the year, QC opens its doors for those wanting to do good deeds to make the less fortunate people happy in different countries and this campaign is a way to revive the sunnah of Prophet Abraham (PBUH)”.
Al Kuwari encouraged those wanting to do good to make use of the month of Dhul Hijja and donate to the projects which would help increase the quantity of sacrificial meat.
'There are millions of Muslim families who eat meat during Eid. They need us,” he said.
Last year, QC provided for 1,000,000 people from 55 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe.
QC offers donors multiple options regarding the people benefiting from their sacrifices. People can donate to ‘Your Sacrifice Their Eid"; campaign through QC";s website: qcharity.org or through the collection centres and its branches in the city, or through the hotline 44667711.
If a person donates more than QR5,000, he can call for personal collection through QC";s application.
