SIS Principal chosen for national award

DOHA: Dr. Subhash B. Nair, Principal, Shantiniketan Indian School in Doha, has been selected by the Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development for this year";s national award for teachers.

He will receive the award from President Pranab Mukherjee during a ceremony at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi tomorrow.

The award recognises Dr. Nair";s service as a teacher and an education leader that inspires his colleagues to continue with excellence to transform schools into a safe learning environment for children while enjoying learning experience.

National awards for teachers are given away by the Indian President on September 5 coinciding with Teacher";s Day every year.
