UAE Ambassador to Japan receives UAE national football team delegation

TOKYO, 31st August, 2016 (WAM) – Khalid Omran Al Ameri, UAE ambassador to Japan, the embassy staff, and representatives of the UAE community in Tokyo, have received the UAE football national team delegation upon its arrival at Haneda Airport, Japan.

Ambassador Al Ameri expressed his optimism about the national team, and the technical and administrative staff, while referring to the ability of the players to rise to the challenge to represent the country, and put up a good performance in their match against the Japanese team in the first competition of the Asian qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

He hailed the strategic and distinguished relations between the UAE and Japan, especially in the area of sports.

The UAE envoy told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) in a statement that the national team include a galaxy of outstanding players, who will honour the country. He praised the support of the wise leadership to the national team.
