Turkish Interior Min. resigns


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, Aug 31 (KUNA) -- Turkey's Prime Minister Binali Yildrim said Wednesday Interior Minister Efkan Ala has resigned from his post without mentioning the reasons.

In a statement after meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Yildrim added that Suleyman Soylu was appointed as Turkey's new interior minister.

Yildrim also confirmed that Bursa deputy, Mehmet Muezzinoglu, had been appointed as the labor and social security minister. (end) rs.mb
