(MENAFN) Oman Sohar port achieved 18.6 percent increase in container volume in the Jan-June period of this year.
Furthermore, break bulk cargo also rose at the port in the cited period, up by over 43 percent in comparison to last year.
Meanwhile, the port and free zone continued to play a crucial role in the diversification and globalization of the Sultanate economy.
However, dry bulk showed a decline of 2.7mn tons in the cited period, to 10.6mn tons due to recent market conditions in the global iron and steel industry.
