(MENAFNEditorial) JAIL GUITAR DOORS Returns to ''ROCK OUT 3!'' at the Ford Theatres On Friday, September 9, 2016. ROCK OUT 2! Featuring Wayne Kramer, Marshall Crenshaw, Jill Sobule, Keith Morris, Don Was, Jason Heath & The Greedy Souls, The Wild Reeds.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, USA, August 30, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- --- ROCK OUT! 3 Has returned to the fabulously refurbished Ford Theatres for Jail Guitar Doors (JGD-USA), led by renowned guitarist Wayne Kramer. Wayne has recruited yet another all-star line-up of performers to ROCK OUT! on Friday, September 9, 2016.

Featured performers include: legendary tunesmith Marshall Crenshaw, Don Was (Grammy Award winning producer and Was Not Was founder), Jill Sobule (singer/activist), Keith Morris (Black Flag, Off!, Circle Jerks), Jason Heath & The Greedy Souls, ethereal folk from NPR sweethearts The Wild Reeds, and special surprise guests.

"I''m an archetypal drug war prisoner. I served a federal prison term in the 1970's and I watched for 30 years as more and more people just like me went to prison for longer periods of time. I''ve been an activist all my life. The only way to fight this meaninglessness was to take ethical action. We have our instruments in over 60 American prisons. We run songwriting workshops in county jails across the country. And we have a wait list of 50 more." -- Wayne Kramer on Jail Guitar Doors (Rolling Stone Magazine -- August 2016)

Recently, Kramer was contacted by long-time friend Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave) to help produce concerts at prisons. Morello had just formed the hip-hop super group Prophets of Rage with Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine, and B-Real of Cypress Hill. Kramer had arranged for Prophets of Rage to play at Norco State Prison, but the group was denied entry at the gate. Not to be controlled by the ''powers that be'', the musicians moved the performance to a clearing across the street from the Main Yard -- with speakers pointed directly into the prison. Those efforts grabbed headlines for Wayne Kramer and thrust the mission of Jail Guitar Doors back into the spotlight.

Since inception, Jail Guitar Doors has been on the front line lobbying against unjust lengthy prison sentences, the privatization of prisons for profit, and actively seeking to restore humanity in a forgotten segment of our citizens: the incarcerated.

Our country faces an epidemic. From 1980 to 2008, the number of people incarcerated in America quadrupled, skyrocketing from roughly 500,000 to 2.3 million. Action must be taken. How do musicians oppose this crime against humanity? They ROCK OUT!
