Fetchr - the first Middle Eastern app to raise top tier Silicon Valley funding to the tune of $11 million in a Series A round -- announces the launch of its brand-new service: Fetchr NOW, which allows users to send or receive any package immediately using only their smartphone and its GPS capabilities. Fetchr, the UAE-headquartered technology start-up, has revolutionised the delivery and logistics industry in the region by tackling the common hassle of having "no actual address" in emerging markets. Fetchr's proprietary technology offers an intuitive solution to parcel pickup and drop-off in a region where address systems can be difficult to navigate. It uses a patented technology to schedule pickup and delivery using mobile phone GPS coordinates. The app enables peer to peer transactions while also facilitating business needs. Fetchr has now broadened their services with the brand new Fetchr NOW feature. Fetchr NOW is an immediate delivery solution, where the closest available driver will get pinged as soon as a request is initiated. The driver will go directly to the pickup location, get the package, and deliver it to the receiver, without making any stops. Users can track the driver's location in real-time, and will see an updated estimated time of arrival (ETA) on the app factoring in GPS positioning, directions, and traffic. The service on the app will be available all-round the day (24 Hours) depending on the availability of drivers in proximity. "We are excited to offer on-demand services to everyone! We want to eliminate the most prevalent logistical challenges in the region- no addresses, security issues, and on-time deliveries", says Idriss Alrifai, Fetchr's CEO. Have a package to send out as soon as possible? Open Fetchr NOW, set your location and a courier will be with you immediately to pick up your package and send it over to its receiver. Have a package to fetch? Fetchr NOW couriers will also pick up a package from somewhere else and get it delivered it to you immediately. Customers can use the service is AED40 flat rate for delivery anywhere in Dubai along with a Cash on Delivery option. Currently, the service of Fetchr NOW is available in Dubai only, with expansion plans for the Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in the pipeline. "We are excited to announce fetchr NOW.
