EU condemns terrorist attack in Yemen


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BRUSSELS, Aug 30 (KUNA) -- The EU has condemned the terrorist attack against a military base in Aden on Monday that killed 60 people.

"These attacks highlight the importance of restoring peace and the rule of law throughout the country through a negotiated political settlement, enabling decisive and resolute action against terrorist groups that pose a direct internal and external threat," said Nabila Massrali, a spokesperson for EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, in a statement last night.

The EU reiterated its firm commitment and determination to assist the Yemeni people to counter the threat of extremist and terrorist groups.

"The EU extends its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a prompt recovery to the wounded," it added. (end) nk.tg
