(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Moroccan inventors participated in this year's International Invention Innovation Competition in Toronto, Canada (iCAN 2016), and won 8 gold medals.
The competition took place in North York Memorial Hall, Toronto on August 27th, and is the first international event for inventions and innovative projects in Canada. Alongside Morocco, numerous other countries participated in the competition. iCAN awarded Morocco six gold medals in the competition. The other two gold medals were awarded by the International Federation of Inventors' Association (IFIA) for the best invention, and a 'special prize' from the Indonesia Inventors' Association. A Senegalese inventor also enrolled with Morocco's Union of Investors, and won a gold medal, according to Le360. The efforts of big Moroccan institutions have made such historical and novel achievement possible. These institutions have rallied to ensure a 'powerful' participation for Moroccan inventors to honor Morocco in this international event, according to the same source. According to Morocco's Union of Investors, 'what allows to attract the attention and interest of investors in the ensemble of Moroccan regions, and even in African countries like Senegal' is the efforts of the association in promoting inventions and supporting investors nationwide. Majid El Bouazzaoui, who was recently decorated by the king, presides the Moroccan union. The union has received an invitation from the competition's organizing body, Toronto International Society of Innovation & Advanced Skills (TISIAS) to participate in iCAN 2016.
