Morocco's Migration Policy in Line with Its Values: Minister


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Morocco has made the irreversible choice of a migration policy that is in line with its fundamentals, Moroccan minister in charge of Moroccans living abroad and migration affairs, Anis Birou, said Monday in Agadir.

Birou, who was speaking at the opening session of the 1st Euro-African Thematic University, stressed that Morocco's new migration policy, initiated under the leadership of King Mohammed VI and praised by international actors, is meant to manage immigration and asylum seeker influx based on human values in their various aspects.

This royal initiative shows Morocco's commitment to ensuring the protection of migrants' rights and to preserving their dignity, said the minister.

It also confirms Morocco's deep conviction that the migratory phenomenon is undoubtedly a lever for development and interregional cohesion, and a bearer of wealth and cultural diversity, as well as a shared responsibility between home, transit and host countries for better manage human mobility, he added.
