MOUNT KISCO, NY - 29 Aug, 2016 - Today the Mount Kisco Democratic Committee (MKDC) is proud to announce our list of Local Candidate";s for Election 2016. Village Board Trustee - Karen Schleimer Jean Farber Village Judge - Mark Farrell Jean Farber graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. degree in Broadcasting and completed a Post-Baccalaureate Program at Sarah Lawrence College. She has been a Mount Kisco / Bedford resident for the past 28 years; both of her children graduated from Fox Lane High School. Jean is currently a Mount Kisco Village Trustee and is totally committed to this responsibility. Ms. Farber was a 10 year New York State Democratic Committee Woman serving the 89th district. She is currently vice president of the Glassbury Court Homeowners Association. In addition, she serves as a member of the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce, the Mount Kisco Historical Society, the American Legion Auxiliary, liaison between thevillage and the Italian American Club and the American Legion Parade committees. She is also aregular volunteer driver for FISH, Friends in Service Helping. Karen Schleimer has been a Mount Kisco resident for more than 25 years and her involvement in Village affairs goes back nearly as far. She has served as Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals, Prosecutor for the Village/Town of Mount Kisco, Counsel to the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Architectural Review Board. Karen is an attorney in private practice specializing in real estate finance with a special interest in advocating on behalf of senior citizens and women. She is a member of The Westchester Municipal Planning Federation; Secretary and Director of The Mount Kisco Library Foundation; Chair of the Livable Communities Council, NE Region; Arbitrator-Attorney Fee Dispute Resolution Panel, Westchester County. Karen is an attorney in private practice specializing in real estate finance with a special interest in advocating on behalf of senior citizens and women. Hon. Mark F. Farrell is seeking re-election to the office of Mount Kisco Town Justice, a position he has held since 2004. Previously, he served as Mount Kisco Mayor from 1995 to 1999. In addition to his elected offices, he is also President of the Westchester County Magistrates Association; Member New York State Magistrates Association; Member NY Bar & NJ Bar; and Member New York State, Westchester County and Northern Westchester Bar Associations. A lifelong Village resident, Mark is a practicing Attorney for 31 years. He holds degrees from Fordham University School of Law (J.D. 1981) and Fairfield University (B.A. 1978).
