Jobless Claims in US drop to five-week low


(MENAFN) The number of Americans applying for unemployment aid last week had dropped to a five-week low.

The advance figure of seasonally adjusted initial claims for jobless benefits fell to 261,000, a decrease of 1,000 comparing to the last week, according to the US Labor Department.

The data became better than the market's expectations of 265,000, while the four-week moving average decreased 1,250 from the previous week's unrevised average to 264,000.
