Arab Parliament praises UAE for treating Yemen war wounded

CAIRO, 28th August, 2016 (WAM) --- Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Ahmed Al Jarwan, praised on Sunday the Emirates Red Crescent's initiative of providing medical treatment for 1,500 Yemenis, who were injured in the war in their country, at hospitals in the UAE, Sudan and India.

In a statement, he said the generous gesture is part of the noble humanitarian role the UAE is playing in Yemen where it protects people, including women and children, and provides treatment for the those injured in the war by the Houthi rebel gangs on the Yemeni people and legitimacy.

He further commends the leaders of the UAE for extending humanitarian support for the underprivileged across the world.

He also praised Sudan for receiving some of the wounded and also for playing a role in Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen saying the initiative reflects cooperation between Arab brothers.

The speaker of the pan-Arab body noted that such initiatives contribute towards supporting and protecting pan-Arab national security
