Over 10,000 Omani pilgrims to perform Hajj this year: MARA

The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs (MARA) represented by the Omani Hajj Mission has issued a statement on the preparations being undertaken this year.

The mission has said that it has taken all necessary measures to facilitate the travel of the pilgrims and is coordinating with various authorities in the sultanate such as the Saudi Arabian Embassy, the Ministry of Health and ROP. It is also coordinating with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia.

The ministry has said that Oman's Hajj quota is 11,200. This includes both Omanis (10,663) and expatriates (537).

Of the total pilgrims, 7,247 will travel by air and 3,953 by road.

The ministry has also said that of the six tour companies organising Hajj pilgrimage three are for Arabs and others for non-Arabs.

The mission has confirmed that it has referred the names of the unlicensed companies publishing misleading advertisements regarding Hajj tours to the Public Prosecution.
