The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), represented by the Petroleum Products Licences Department, has said that 16 filling stations opened across the country from January to July this year.

These stations include those owned by Omanoil, Shell and Al Maha, in addition to the issuance of 14 temporary licences to open stations. MoCI has said that it will continue issuing licences to open more fuel stations to improve the coverage area across the country.

The ministry is in the process of completing legal procedures for the issuance of integrated regulation for the establishment of filling stations. MoCI aims to provide these services electronically via its 'Invest Easy' portal.
