Kenya to export oil in June 2017

(MENAFN) Kenya aims to start exporting oil in June next year, as proclaimed Kenyan President after a meeting with Tullow Oil, British oil exploration firm.

Accordingly, McDade confirmed to President Kenyatta that the oil would be transported by road from Northern Kenya to the Mombasa port city in Kenyan coast.

Moreover, the firm will be generating over 2.000 barrels a day and also aimed on digging eight more oil wells in the north region of Lokichar.

The country struck oil for the first time in the semi-arid country of Turkana, in the northern part of the country in 2012.
