Growth in Imports of Philippine by 15.4% in June


(MENAFN) A government agency announced a growth in Philippine's imports by 15.4% in June, making it one of the top imports performers for the H1 in Asia for 2016.

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) stated that total payments grew to USD6.9b from USD5.9b in June 2015.

Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia in a statement: "This performance shows the strength of domestic demand in the country, particularly in consumption and investment, as reflected by the (country's) latest real gross domestic product growth of 7 percent in the second quarter."
