French DCNS shipbuilder suffers data leak

(MENAFN) The French shipbuilder DCNS, which this year won a USD38.06b contract to build next generation of submarines in Australia, had suffered a massive data leak, after raising doubts about the security of the world's biggest defense projects.

The leak that was reported on The Australian contains more than 22,000 pages defining the secret capability of six submarines that DCNS has designed for the Indian Navy.

DCNS spokeswoman said in a statement: "As a serious matter pertaining to the Indian Scorpene program, French national authorities for defense security will formally investigate and determine the exact nature of the leaked documents."
