(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Baghdad, August 24 (QNA) - Iraqi President Fuad Masum met here today with Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq Jan Kubis .
The two sides discussed the UN Mission's plans in Iraq for the relief of the displaced and the reconstruction of liberated areas from the grip of the ISIS (Daesh) , as well as assistance in the upcoming Iraqi provincial elections.
The Iraqi president stressed the importance of redoubling efforts to receive the largest numbers of the displaced people and provide the necessary services to them, especially during the upcoming military operations to liberate the city of Mosul in northern Iraq.(QNA)
