(MENAFN) Australian carrier Qantas posted record annual profits and proclaimed its first payout to shareholders in seven years.
Moreover, the group results were also increased by the sharp fall in global oil prices and a less competitive local market.
On the other hand, other global airlines like Cathay Pacific, ANA and Japan Airlines viewed profits plunge amid intense competition from lower cost rivals.
The group posted a net annual profit of USD1.08mn in the year to June 30, an 80 percent grow from the previous corresponding year.
