Arab League warns of rising interventions in Syria

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Aug 23 (KUNA) -- Arab League warned Tuesday of recent rising of outside interventions in Syria and their impact on exacerbating the ongoing crisis in that country.

Secretary General Ahmad Abul Gheit has expressed his strong disappointment toward the continued deterioration of humanitarian situation inside Syria, particularly situations resulted by the siege on Aleppo's residents, Mahmoud Afifi, Secretary General's Spokesman, said in a statement.

The Arab framework is the most appropriate for resolving the complicated situation in Syria, Afifi said, adding that armed action would not end the conflict; therefore, reviving the political negotiations among Syrian parties is essential for ending the war.

Stopping the aggression in order to allow entry of urgent humanitarian aid to besieged towns and cities is a humanitarian and moral responsibility, he said, stressing the importance of approving the truce among warring sides to prevent the current humanitarian situation in Syria from further deterioration.
